Vintend/SINORANGE Decorating your home for Valentine’s Day may include hanging a heart-shaped wreath on your front door or having a vase of fresh cut flowers on your dining room table at all times. But if you are looking to switch up your home decor pieces …
Prime Day, Amazon’s annual members-only sale, ends today at midnight PT. There are a lot of home goods on sale this year including mainstay categories, like mattresses, and some wild cards, like surprisingly great deals on ceiling fans and highly rated clothes hangers that come out to about a quarter apiece. To help you sort through such a high volume of sales, we’ve singled out the best deals on items we’re enthusiastic about. That includes products we’ve written about before and brands we trust, from our favorite upgrade iron (at a bargain-iron price) to a fun set of cabana-striped towels.
We’re also checking to make sure these are actually good deals, not just a 5 percent discount on an item that’s on perma-sale. (Even if something you have your eye on didn’t go on sale today, you might find a better price at a different time of year; turn on email alerts at the Amazon price-tracking site Camelcamelcamel to make sure you don’t miss it.) This is our final update of the day, and although deals will be shoppable until midnight, some items may sell out before then, so it’s worth acting fast. Even if you didn’t find your dream bedspread or Goldilocks dish rack today, we cover sales all year long — sign up for our newsletter to stay in touch.
Zinus is the maker of some of our favorite inexpensive bed frames, and this metal-framed platform bed is on sale in king size at the lowest price we’ve seen it this year.

DHP makes one of our favorite bunk beds, and this metal-framed, lofted version also scores high for looks and sturdiness.
“I really love this cover as a way to clean up my kids’ room superfast and get an extra seat in the process,” says Strategist senior editor Jen Trolio. This machine-washable cover can be filled with stuffed animals, towels, or clothing, which Trolio reports are still “really easy to access — the zipper opens wide, and my 6-year-old and 4-year-old can easily switch out their buddies that are in there.”
Leesa’s original mattress is one of our top picks — its all-foam construction offers great pressure relief for all kinds of sleepers. It’s a very good deal today at 29 percent off.

Tuft & Needle’s cooling Mint mattress is ideal for those who run hot. “I’ll just say this: There were a couple nights I forgot to turn my fan on and didn’t wake up drenched,” reports Strategist staff writer Arielle Avila. The mattress is 30 percent off today, the lowest price we’ve seen this year.
The Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam mattress was enthusiastically recommended by writer and filmmaker Kelsey Darragh, who used it while recovering from knee surgery: “My overall REM sleep went up 30 minutes after I bought the Green Tea,” she reports.
Casper’s neck-supporting polyfill pillow is 30 percent off, the lowest price we’ve ever seen it on Amazon.

Until you’ve fought with a cookbook to make the page you’re using lie flat, you don’t appreciate how useful a stand is — and this one by Strategist-favorite brand Yamazaki is cute enough to live on your counter when not in use.
These friendly, handy lemon-patterned dishcloths will cheer up your kitchen.
KitchenAid’s large dish-drying rack has space for tons of plates, a utensil caddy, and special holders for drying glasses and mugs.
For a kitchen with limited counter space, Lisa Zaslow of Gotham Organizers recommends Umbra’s UDry system, which is sturdy despite its small footprint.
Amazon’s velvet-covered hangers are enthusiastically recommended, with over 130,000 five-star reviews. Today they’re 40 percent off — a pack of 100 comes out to just 27 cents per hanger.

Umbra’s over-the-door organizer, a nod to the Eames Hang-It-All coat rack, is stylish — and with 14 hooks’ worth of hanging capacity, it’s very practical.
Philips Hue light strips are the industry standard for colored LED lights. Among other things, we’ve heard they provide great mood lighting for a game of Dungeons & Dragons.
If Hue bulbs are too pricey, Strategist contributor Kyle Schurman named Sengled’s color-changing bulbs as his favorites — they’re affordable, easy to set up, and “exceptionally well made.”
Aura is the maker of our best-in-class digital picture frame, and the brand’s Carver frame was Strategist senior editor Jen Trolio’s favorite purchase of 2021. She says it makes an especially good gift: “Aura lets you preload the frame remotely with photos and a gift message, so when it ships straight to your giftee, all they have to do is download the app and connect the frame to Wi-Fi.”
A multitasking drying rack for laundry maximalists, this Honey-Can-Do gull-wing rack is one of our favorites — and is 25 percent off today.
Rowenta’s name came up often when we polled dry cleaners, costume designers, and laundry experts about their favorite irons — especially the brand’s Focus iron, which “exhales big ol’ puffs of steam exactly upon triggering and never before or after.”
A classic for good reason, this durable, “meant to be flung around” laundry basket is the cheapest we’ve seen it this year.
This self-watering, indoor-outdoor raised planter is one of our favorite gifts for gardeners — its compact silhouette can fit in a city backyard or on a porch.
Beloved by barbecue nerds, pellet grills use an automatic feed of wood pellets to simultaneously cook and smoke meat. “Your fuel source is also your smoke source,” explains Strategist contributor Steven John. He likes this option by Z Grills for its 20-pound hopper, which means “you can load up enough wood pellets for hours of smoking with minimal refills required.” (Remember to check the coupon box to get the full discount.)
Strategist senior audience-engagement manager Mia Leimkuhler has gifted this cute squirrel-themed toy to other dog parents. “It’s a hit every time,” she says. (Remember to check the coupon box to get the full discount.)

This hard-sided pet carrier was recommended to us by Kerrie McKeon, resident cat expert at the animal-welfare and adoption organization Bideawee. She mentions that the case is especially good for pet owners trying to wrangle a cat into a carrier: “You can prop it up against a wall” and put the cat inside by yourself. “For one person, a plastic carrier is the way to go because it has its own structure.”
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.

Home cooks with a Le Creuset Dutch oven on their wish list know how rare it is to find one on sale. The most popular version—the 7.25-quart capacity round, classic red enameled cast iron oven—is a whopping $120 off for Prime Day.

Consider this a run, don’t walk situation: The never-on-sale KitchenAid Stand Mixer is $60 off right now. 14″ Midcentury Modern Large Planter with Stand
Planters, especially those with stands, can get expensive when purchased from a name brand. This option is just as good on quality—the planter is made of fiberglass (which is more durable than ceramic, so less prone to cracks and breaks) and the stand of real bamboo wood—without the $100+ price tag.
13
Shark WANDVAC Cordless Handheld Vacuum
The Shark WANDVAC handheld vacuum is one of our favorite tools for cleaning surprise messes. It comes with a charging dock (pictured) so it has no cords, making it easy to grab and put to use immediately. We also love the design—it’s easy on the eyes, so you can leave it out on a shelf or table for quick access versus hiding it away in the cleaning closet.
14
